OUR STORY
From a handheld translator to a platform businesses run on.
Vavus started as a single device that helped travelers talk. It is now a translation, dictation, and customer-service platform that runs on phones, keyboards, and custom Android devices.
It started with a conversation.
Constantine and his college roommate, Douglas, started Vavus in 2020. Constantine’s travels had shown him how much of a place you miss when you cannot talk with the people who live there.
Listening to the people using it
Owners pushed the devices further than a handheld could go. Their feedback set the direction for everything that followed.
Then we built the platform.
The translation engine outgrew the device. Vavus is now the most complete translation and dictation platform we know of — a phone app, a keyboard that types and translates anywhere, and Concierge, an AI customer-service agent that speaks to customers in their language. Vavus OS runs it all on Android hardware we configure for a team, a clinic, or a workplace.
